Welcome
Almost 30 students participated in the 7th edition of the Workshop Drugs and the Brain, an update in Psychopharmacology, which was organized March 21st-26th 2010 in the beautiful city Braga in the North of Portugal. All students stayed in the Don sofia hotel in the center of Braga and the educational program was hosted by the University of Minho, Braga.
Psychiatrists, Neuroscientist and scientist in industry shared their knowledge and ideas in the field of psychopharmacology with PhD students from all over Europe. In this way students and post docs got the opportunity to expand their knowledge in the extended field of psychopharmacology. In the morning lectures were given but in the afternoon interactive workshops and poster presentations were organized. It was great, organized well.
Prof. Brian Leonard (IRE), the chair of the whole workshop, organized lecturers from all over: Prof. Bill Deakin (UK), Charles Marsden (UK), Prof. Jannus Harro (Estonia), Dr. ian Jones (UK), Dr. Laurence Lanfumey (FR), Dr. Onno Meijer (NL), Prof. Joana Palha (POR), Dr. Jos Prickaerts (NL), Prof. Jan Ramaekers (NL), Prof. Gavin Reynolds (UK), Prof. Nuno Sousa (POR), Dr. Thomas Steckler (BE), Dr. Tatyna Strekalova (NL), Prof. Herman Westenberg (NL) all contributed to the workshop!
Poster prices were won by Miguel Carvalho (POR), Wendy Bosker (NL), Aine Abautret-Daly and Richard O'Connor.
